Deep fire invade
From watery depths
Displacing upper layers
Revitalizes, evoke and captivate
Flowing beneath
an otherwordly fish
Gliding towards me
Purer than any creature…

The coronavirus pandemic gave us time to reflect … reflect on our lives, family, friends and death. The pandemic confronted us with fear, fear of the unknown and fear of death that deprived us of the very essence of life: Mother Earth. In shock, we receded, almost forgetting the earth, but hope survived and brought the realization that only She can revive us again. The earth provides us with nourishment, wealth, longevity and tranquility, but in return we have to protect her by living a life in balance with nature. Goethe once wrote: “A blue surface seems to recede from us … It draws us after it”.
The backdrop of this painting represents the human race, receding, but then mother earth revives us again … we need to recede in order to reviveArtwork
